Attention Bob Kraft: Sign Daunte Culpepper to Patriots. Now.

This week we wrote about ten teams that passed on Daunte Culpepper… ten teams that shouldn’t have. Guess who sat at the #1 position?
Yeah… the New England Patriots. Call it a massive jinx. Or call it foresight. But it happened and now we are hoping that Bob Kraft reads this: Sign Daunte Culpepper.
We don’t know much about Tom Brady’s injury, but we know the following:
- It appears that Tom will be out at least a few weeks and hopefully can return later in the year
- Matt Cassel is not Tom Brady. He’s not even 5% of Tom Brady
- Daunte Culpepper has a very big arm… and the Patriots like to throw deep
- Daunte Culpepper has played with Randy Moss before… and they did so *very* well
This makes complete sense. Say Tom Brady is out for 4-6 weeks. Daunte can step right in and control the field more comfortably than Matt Cassel. Plus, he is able to thrown downfield far better - and is less likely to make the crucial mistake. Meanwhile, Tom Brady won’t need to hurry back considering their cupcake schedule and Daunte’s ability to lead the team.
Finally, Daunte is motivated. He wrote a letter to every NFL team asking to play for someone. Anyone. He will come back. Work hard. Sign a small contract. And win.
