Anna Grzebien Interview
November 16th, 2008 | By Jack Newhouse Posted in Golf, Hottest Athlete
Anna Grzebien just completed her rookie year on the LPGA. This Blue Devil won multiple national championships during her college career at Duke. Now part of the Wilhelmina 7, Anna is making a name for herself as one of the fresh new faces of golf.
Anna, you dominated at Duke both as an individual and a team. Tell us about that. My freshman year, we were supposed to have the best team ever. The team was stacked. At nationals, we came in third, which was a huge upset. After that loss, we dug our heels in, and won it all the next three years. My sophomore year was the highlight. It was a great feeling to win as an individual and a team. We played out in Oregon, where it was freezing cold. I will never forget making a 3 footer to win as an individual and a team.
How nervous were you before that putt? It was a slider. My approach shot was above the hole, and I left my putt short. I was worried that I was such a spaz I left my putt 3 feet short. 2 different people walked up to me and said everyone left that putt short. I was worried I was being a spazz in a pressure situation. My three footer was a slider. I always do 3-5 foot putting drills. It was an unbelievable feeling when I picked the ball up out of the hole.
Outside of a pro tourney, what is the most you have ever putt for? I really only played for cash when I was younger, and then, I had no money. $20 was a big bet for me.
So you are not ready to step up with Phil and play for $50k per hole? No, my bank account is not ready for that.
Both your older sisters were golfers at Northwestern. How good did it feel to surpass them in the golfing world, and earn the title of Best Grzebien? When we started, I was 5, they were 7 and 8. When you are young, there is such a difference in physical strength. They always hit it farther than me, because they were bigger. I am so competitive. We would have dinners where nobody would speak to each other cause someone beat someone on the golf course. When I finally did it, by the time I passed them, we were mature enough so it was not a big deal. When you do something, you set your sites higher. When I did it, I was not thinking “oh hey, I am better than my sisters.” Its more like, I am playing well, and now I want to do this. If it hadn’t been for my sisters, I would not be where I am today.
You and Tiger are going to go head to head for 1 shot. You get to pick the shot. What are you going with? At first I would say putting, but he is so clutch. I say, an 80 yard wedge shot from the short stuff.
How was the first year on tour? Any surprises? There is great food out on the road. I was surprised at how nice everyone was. People were very welcoming to me as a rookie.
Who is the biggest bitch on tour? Since I am a rookie, I shouldn’t answer that one.
Do you need to win a tourney to answer that? Before I start running my mouth, I need a title.
What is a better bar, Sattys in Durham or The Keg in Evanston? The Keg. Every time I have gone, I was there with my sisters. We had a lot of fun. The company makes it.
Who has been most helpful to you this year? Point Judith in RI. I could not have been on tour without them. A group of members put funds together, so I could do what I am doing. There is no way you can do it without some sort of sponsorship right out of the gate. It is very, very expensive, from entry fees, to plane tickets, to hotels. There is no time for a side job for money. They have been there every step of the way. They are unbelievable. The other course that has been a huge help is the Wanderers Club. The Directer of golf is a URI grad, he asked me if I needed a place to practice. I am very lucky to be there. Those two courses and the membership are the people I would like to thank.
Who are your favorite W7 girls to go out with? We really just see each other on the road. We don’t have a lot of time to go out. We will at most do dinner and a movie. We can’t go out on the town. Of the 7, I am closest with Kim Hall, she is one of my best friends on tour. Sandra Gal and I are also close. I knew her from college golf.
How was W7 life changing? The owner of Wilhelmina picked me out at a tourney in Phoenix. I was in the right place at the right time. It is neat to do something outside of golf. The modeling is fun. Playing competitive golf, you are not out there getting all dolled up. Its wild to see what is going on behind the scenes. I have made friends with all 6 girls. You do get some crap from your friends, but it is way worth it.

Ok, last questions. For InGameNow’s World’s Hottest Athlete contest, we need your final four picks. First, Anna Kournakova vs. the Feres Twins, Who ya got? Kournakova (I mean she shares my name)
The other matchup is Stacy Keibler vs. Blair O’Neal? Keibler
And finally, who is your pick to go all the way? Stacy Keibler
Thanks for taking the time to talk to InGameNow. We expect big things out of Anna Grzebien next season

Caddyshack’s Cindy Morgan
November 16th, 2008 | By Jack Newhouse Posted in Golf, Hottest Athlete
InGameNow had the opportunity to interview Cindy Morgan, who was one of our favorite characters of all time, Lacey Underall, in the movie Caddyshack. In fact, InGameNow picked Cindy as the Hottest Actress to ever appear in a sports movie.

Who was cooler on Set, Bill Murray or Chevy Chase, and more importantly, who hit on you first? Who hit on me? Anybody above the line. Billy and I got along very well, we are both from Chicago. Brian Doyle-Murray was one of the writers, and wrote Caddyshack about his brother Ed, who was the basis of Danny Noonan.
Tell us about working with Chevy Chase. Chevy and I has a passionate relationship. We were shooting in a house in Florida in August. It was over 100 degrees. After a couple days of filming, people were getting aggravated. Chevy said a few things, I said a few things. He walked off the set and refused to work with me. Harold Ramis, the director, said apologize. I said no, at this point, I had evolved into Lacey. We were all a little bit in character. After an hour, Chevy came back. He agreed to shooting two masters, and that’s it. Look at the scene where he dumped that bottle of oil on my back. Look at my eyes. I am not that good of an actress. He was trying to blow me off the screen. The piano scene was not in the script. Harold told me to sit down. The camera’s were rolling. I saw the tequila i took a shot. It was tequila by the way. I had a big wad of gum in my mouth, I blew a bubble in his face, and that was the scene.
Wow, I didn’t realize it was so rocky between you two. So I guess that settles weather or not you slept with Chevy Chase. Umm…. Lets just say it was 1979.
So, how did your shooting begin? The first scene we shot was the high dive. I can’t dive, I certainly can’t swim. I am legally blind. that was difficult. The second scene was the nude scene, where I was topless. The night before we shot the scene, I got a call from John Peters. He said we are sending a photographer from Playboy down to shoot that scene tomorrow. I said, ‘that’s very flattering, but I can’t do it. I am the Irish Spring girl, and my father would drop dead. I can’t do it.’ The next day, we are in a house with Michael O’Keefe, the set is crawling with people who didn’t belong there, and the Playboy photographer shows up. I checked my contract and knew I was not under obligation to do this. I agreed to the nude scene in the movie, but not for pictures. So I stopped production and refused to work until the Playboy guy left. Peters was calling me between takes, telling me I had to do the Playboy shoot, or “I was fucked in this business.” I have no problem with nudity, I have a problem with bullys. Peters did do me a big favor. He backed me into a corner, really pissed me off. That is where Lacey became Lacey. Instead of Lacey makes love with Danny, Lacey made love to Danny.
That’s when the character was created? Yes. At that point I stopped being afraid. Peters took away my introduction billing. He didn’t invite me to the premier. Doug Kenny bought me 2 first class tickets and an invitation to the premier. Doug was a wonderful man, there wasn’t one person in the world that didn’t love Doug. I showed up to the premier, walked up to Jon Peters, and said ‘hey John, what are you doing here?’ Peters gave me no promotion, my name was not associated with Caddyshack, and I did not work for over a year until I got the Disney film Tron.
That is amazing that after Caddyshack, you were not the hottest thing in Hollywood! I switched agencies, to William Morris. I had more lunches with agents than auditions. I am not sure if it was because of Peters or not.
How much blow was floating around the set? Rumor has it, it was more prevalent that coffee. I didn’t really see any coffee. There was quite a bit. It was 1979. People thought drugs were good for them. Clearly it they weren’t. Doug Kenny had gone to Hawaii to relax. He fell off a cliff. We all loved Doug. I don’t know how much that was related to the drugs, so I am not glorifying it or justifying it at all. When filming, Doug would run through the halls yelling, ‘the eagle has landed,’ which meant, get your per diem in cash, the dealer is here. That was what was going on. There was quite a bit of it. It was not unusual.
It was also much more socially acceptable back then. It was socially acceptable, it was a social thing. I remember thinking I can’t wait till this movie is over, because I am not going to live to see 30. I better cut this out right away. People were staying up all night. We would hot wire the golf carts.
So there were some Shenanigans going on at night? Oh God yeah. Very often, there was no sleep. It was Animal House on the golf course. It was a real party atmosphere. That is why the film did so well. We were having a good time. The chemistry was amazing. That is why it went so well.
Did you guys destroy the golf course you did this at? Oh yeah, I found out you are not supposed to ride the golf carts on the greens. I guess it tears them up, but we were doing that.
Which golf course was Bushwood? All I know is it was one of the North Side golf courses. The movie was written about Ed Murray’s experiences as a caddy. If you look, Danny Noonan had that great big Irish Catholic family. That’s the Murrays. Kenny had the country club background, so he had that point of view. Together they could do the Snobs against the Slobs.
That is why you saw both points of view? Exactly. You can find the original trailer on my myspace page.
Wait a second, how old are you? This says you are 46! Not that age, people put up whatever they want.
Did you lie about your age on myspace? I didn’t put up the page, but somebody lied, obviously.
Ok, I hope you didn’t shoot that topless scene at the age of 15! Unless it is dangerous or harmful, I don’t bother to change it.
Did they have air conditioners around you before every scene? It was hot, it was humid. The only time it was a problem was the love scene with Chevy. It had to be over 100 degrees in there. It was darn hot. Air conditioning didn’t help much. In the evening it was cooler.
I think this was a question more about the prevalence of nipple in your scenes. Jesus! That was outside. This was 1979, it was a political statement. Women weren’t wearing bra’s.

So was there a conscious effort to tweak them before you shot? Absolutely not. I simply didn’t wear a bra.
I think that look should come back. The idea was, why pretend we don’t have breasts when we do. Right now, it has gone the other way. If you look at Victoria’s Secret, it is full coverage, so there is no visibility. It is what has become socially acceptable. People get excited by breasts.
Ok, lets talk InGameNow’s World’s Hottest Athlete. We need your votes for the Final Four. Blair O’Neal vs. Stacy Keibler? Stacy Keibler.
Anna Kournakova vs. the Feres Twins? I will go Anna, although I am sure the guys are going the other way.
Who is your pick to go all the way? That’s a tough one. Anna has more international fame. Stacy has gotten more press lately. I will go with Stacy.

Cindy, thank you for the time. Go Bears!

John Daly, Booze, Hooters - THE TRIFECTA!
October 29th, 2008 | By Sean Finerty Posted in Golf
According the Associated Press, John Daly - more famous for his antics off the golf course than on the links - was found piss drunk outside a North Carolina Hooters. Any other “professional” athlete and you’d be saying, “WHAT?!?” But for Daly, this is just par for the course. (Thank you, thank you)
No word on what Johnny’s BAC was, but he was found unconscious - I’m guessing it took 23 MGD’s, 4 Jager Bombs, 8 tequila shots, and 25 hot wings to put the big boy down.

Neiman Marcus just released their 2008 Christmas Book, which is their annual collection of ridiculous luxury items that you lowly, recession-struck peasants can’t afford. Other gifts this year include a Jack Nicklaus-designed 3-hole golf course in your back yard for $1M, and The Harlem Globetrotters Basketball Experience (which includes your own uniform and guaranteed playing time in the 2008-9 season) for $110k.
