Alabama and LSU Go Into Overtime!
November 8th, 2008 | By Dan Winter Posted in NCAA FB
In a day that has already seen Penn State upset by Iowa, LSU has taken #1 ranked Alabama into overtime. John Parker Wilson marched his Crimson Tide down on the final drive of regulation. It was a low kick by Leigh Tiffin being blocked that brought us to overtime.
In overtime, Jarrett Lee threw his fourth interception of the game setting up an easy victory by Alabama. John Parker Wilson threw a 24 yard pass and then followed it up 2 plays later with a quarterback sneak for the TD and the win. Alabama remains unbeaten at 10-0 and will see if they remain the #1 ranked team in the Nation. Follow all the news at InGameNow.

What We Learned From College Football Week 4
September 20th, 2008 | By Ryan Hogan Posted in NCAA FB
SEC has a lot of good teams
LSU 26 Auburn 21
Before Saturday’s game, the home team won each of the previous eight matchups. Despite that, No. 6 LSU still managed to leave Jordan-Hare Stadium with a comeback win over No. 10 Auburn. It was an epic matchup between two perennial SEC powerhouses. Meanwhile, No. 3 Georgia goes west, as far west as it has gone to play a regular season game since 1960, and defeats Arizona State 27 to 10. Knowshon Moreno rushed for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns. No. 4 Florida trounces Tennessee 30 to 6. No. 9 Alabama downs Arkansas 49 to 14.Terrelle Pryor can play
Ohio State 28 Troy 10
The Ohio State freshman, making his first start went 10 for 16 for 139 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for 66 yards. More importantly, he led the flat No. 13 Buckeyes to a win. Meanwhile, former starter Todd Boeckman threw one pass. It was incomplete and he was booed heavily by the smallest crowd in Ohio Stadium in six years. It’s ain’t easy being Cinderella
North Carolina State 30 East Carolina 24
After upsetting than-ranked Virginia Tech and West Virginia, No. 15 East Carolina got a taste of reality. Not the realization they are a poor football team, which they’ve aren’t, but the realization they aren’t perfect. That’s what they needed to be in order to crash the BCS party. A fumble on their first possession in overtime caused ECU to suffer early season heartbreak.BYU is good
BYU 44 Wyoming 0
How does No. 14 Brigham Young follow up a 59 to 0 drubbing of UCLA? How about a 44 to 0 drubbing of Wyoming. Wyoming isn’t very good and neither is UCLA, but even Penn State allowed Coastal Carolina to score 10 points. The Cougars have won 14 straight. Their next game is October 3rd at Utah State.Spartans bring in a Ringer
Michigan State 23 Notre Dame 7
Javon Ringer rushed for 201 yards and 2 touchdowns on 39 carries in Michigan State 23 to 7 victory over the Fighting Irish. His longest rush of the day went for 63-yards and set up his second 1-yard TD run. He may be the best back in the country.
What do Charlie Weis and Notre Dame’s offense have in common?
Michigan State 23 Notre Dame 7
Answer: they both have trouble getting up and down the field. The anemic Irish managed only 255 yards in 70 plays. Worse, the Irish rushed for only 15 yards in 22 attempts. Jimmy Clausen threw 2 interceptions and rushed for a negative 31 yards. Notre Dame also couldn’t capitalize on 14 Spartan penalties.Never hurts to have a lot of QB’s when your QBs hurt
Boise State 37 Oregon 32
No 17 Oregon, already down a starting quarterback, saw their backup, Jeremiah Masoli, concussed. True freshman Chris Harper was ineffectual behind center. Ergo, they used freshman QB Darron Thomas. The Ducks had hoped to redshirt him. Needless to say, the Ducks lose at rare one at Autzen.Chase is in the Heisman chase
Missouri 42 Buffalo 21
Tigers’ Chase Daniel passed for a career-high 439 yards and set a Big 12 record with 20 consecutive completions. No. 5 Missouri played sloppy but got the win. -
Opening Saturday NCAA Football Picks from Fans
August 30th, 2008 | By InGameNow Posted in InGameNow, NCAA FB
It’s the first Saturday, and we’ve added to our user NCAA Pick’em game. We have holdovers from Thursday like milehighsalute, oflarity, and steelydaniel. And new users have stepped up to challenge them.
This week should be interesting, it has already started with the Appalachian State Mountaineers, not only battling the Tigers of LSU, but also racing the incoming Hurricane Gustav, which is currently over Cuba.
So, in honor of the Tigers moving up their game, I won’t delay any longer. Here are the picks:
milehighsalute (1-0) - Colorado State at Colorado (Sunday) - “I’ll take the Rocky Mountain Showdown. I feel kind of at risk picking a team with 73 out of 107 players being Frosh and Sophs, but I do like Ralphie! So I am getting behind the big buffalo, no matter which Ralphie it is, CU will win it!”

phillyphanatic (0-0) - Appalachian State at LSU - “LSU to Appalachian State: Ain’t going to happen. LSU won’t get caught with their pants down like the Wolverines last year & covers the spread 42-17.”

GatorGod15 (0-0) - Hawaii at Florida - “Florida beats Hawaii 49-13.”

derekfitness (0-0) - Florida International at Kansas - “KANSAS 51 - FIU 13… Todd Reesing warms up and throws for 3 TD’s. Jake Sharp runs for 100 yards and a score, as doe Jocques Crawford.”

oflarity (1-0) - Chattanooga at Oklahoma - “I’ll take Oklahoma over Chattanooga. Playing it safe, while the rest of you suckers try to over-compensate.”

LakerRaider (0-0) - Tennessee at UCLA (Monday) - “I think it’s UCLA because that’s how they’ll begin the Neuheisel Era: They will play tough against all the better teams.

KanyeWest (0-0) - Syracuse at Northwestern - “Northwestern 38, Syracuse 24″

steelydaniel (1-0) - Alabama at Clemson - Alabama over Clemson by at least 2 touchdowns. Their rankings will be reversed by next week.

athletics68 (0-1) - Michigan State at California - “Michigan State’s lack of WR and horrible O line will be too much for them to overcome versus Cal’s D!”

So, as you can see there are different styles: Some users pick the safe bets with the extreme being oflarity, which should be specifically barraded. Not only is picking Oklahoma over a Southern Conference team safe, it is down-right boring! Com’on, man, you can do better than that! Then milehighsalute picks Colorado, seemingly because he doesn’t want to be opposite a 2,000 pound animal, which is a fair sentiment. And last we have the reacher in steelydaniel, who picks the underdog on the road, and this will be honored if it happens! So, be sure to look for the Results Blog Tuesday morning, where we will see how it turns out, and one of the winners will get to gloat!
So come to InGameNow and watch the winners gloat and the losers try to explain their decisions. And, if you have the personality to rub it someone’s face when you win, join the site and post your pick for Week 2, here’s how:
1. Log onto InGameNow, and set up a user name, if you don’t have one already.
2. Go to the page of the team you want to pick, and find the next week’s game. Post your pick on the game page. Remember only your first pick and the first pick on that game will be recorded in this game.
3. The winner at the end of the season will receive an InGameNow t-shirt and be measured by winning percentage (eligibility is based upon 60% of the user with the most picks). We might also add other divisions, such as a “PeeWee Division” and stick oflarity and his boring picks there!
4. Talk a little trash with your opponents or talk other sports with the fans of InGameNow.

August 1st, 2008 | By InGameNow Posted in NCAA FB
I thought that Snoop Dogg was a USC fan… but apparently he is now smitten with LSU an Les Miles… and Les appears smitten with Snoop, who he introduces as “Mr. Dogg”. Bizarre. Funny. Awesome. All in one.
