  • UFC 100 Rumors

    While we still have some great UFC cards to look forward to - UFC 90: Silva v. Cote, UFC 91: Couture v. Lesnar, and BJ Penn v. Georges St.-Pierre expected to take place sometime around the Super Bowl (and, yes, UFC 89, but that’s irrelevant in comparison) - rumors are starting to swirl around UFC 100. And these rumors are HUGE!

    According to the rumors, UFC 100, expected to take place on July 4th, will put every title on the line. Assuming that the current Champions retain their belts between now and then, you can expect to see a card boast the likes of Lightweight Champion BJ Penn, Welterweight Champion Georges St.-Pierre, Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva, Light Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffin, and Heavyweight Champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira/Randy Couture (heavyweight title, obviously, still to be decided). This would be by far the biggest promotion any MMA organization has put on.

    Obviously, the biggest problem the UFC would face is the question, “What now?” If you’ve got every champion and every top contender fighting on the UFC 100 card, that leaves the talent pool pretty thin when you start planning UFC 101. In fact, the earliest you’d probably see a championship fight would be UFC 103. So as great as an all-championship UFC 100 sounds, is it worth the hit on future events?

  • Dana White has a Few Words for the EliteXC Management

    UFC President Dana White had a few choice words for EliteXC after the Kimbo Slice/Seth Petruzelli 13 second debacle last week. He appears to be a bit peeved about the notion of the fight being thrown and how the EliteXC suits are ruining the sport. White has been known to produce good soundbtyes, and he drops quite a few F-bombs in this one.

    I’m sure this has nothing to do with him opportunistically leveraging the publicity to show how much better his UFC product is than that other league. He might as well take the shots while EliteXC still exists.

  • Gina Carano doesn’t want to fight at 140 anymore?

    Gina Carano reportedly is giving up on her dreams of being a steady 140lb fighter. My only response to that is, “Dear God why!?!?!”

    Scenes like this would just won’t happen anymore. Frankly I just think it would be sad if we didn’t get to enjoy watching Gina continue to struggle to make weight. And as a result have to get all naked and hide behind too small towels while her handlers try not to look at what’s under the wrapping of everyone’s favorite undefeated woman MMA star. Hell if she goes up a weight class we might not even get to see her in great little skimpy weigh in numbers like this one as she sheds every inch of fabric she can to make that elusive 140 lb number. And frankly that would just be sad.

    This is the most bizarre photo I’ve seen all day. Seriously.
    First, when is Tito Ortiz wearing a Dick Tracy pinstripe suit?
    Second, his head is bigger than Jenna Jameson. Not Jenna’s head… all of her.
    Third, the two are having twins. There is no chance any baby with any resemblance to Tito can pop out of her… let alone two of them!
